About

KTH FC - Sveriges Kungligaste Fotbollsförening

ABOUT

The club was founded in 2012 by two students of the university, Johan Kitti Söderberg och Andreas Patriksson, who realised that there was no official football club at the school. The first board also included their friends and colleagues Daniel Lindström, Lucas Rudqwist, Samuel Lindberg and Anton Lundström.

First season the team played in the local Sunday league before joining STFF's series system in the coming season. 2015 the club expanded with a women's section as well and today the club has more than 60 active members from different parts of the world.

Below is an image of the team from the first season back in 2012 and for anyone interested you can read a bit about the club's early days below.

HISTORY

2012

KTH FC was founded by Johan Kitti Söderberg and Andreas Patriksson in 2012. The first board consisted of Söderberg as Chairman and Patriksson as vice-chairman as well as Daniel Lindström as secretary, Lucas Rudqwist as treasurer and Anton Lundström, Samuel Lindberg and Johan Kasperi as members. The first squad was:

The first season the club played in Stockholm Korpen and ended up in the middle of the table. The highlight game of the season was when the eventual winners of the league, Reeperbahn, were defeated 2-1 in a game totally dominated by the opponents. Both goals scored by KTH FC were clearly offside by several meters but the referee didn’t notice. KTH FC capitalized and came away with the victory.

Another notable victory came against Kärrtorps IK in the middle of the summer 2012 when KTH FC only managed to get 5 players from the squad to the game. A few friends were called in and the opponents even loaned three players to KTH FC. One of the loaned players scored both goals in a 2-1 victory to KTH FC.

One of the last games of the season was played against Stureby SK at their home pitch in Stureby. The players were very excited beforehand is it was the only game that season to be played on natural grass. Unfortunately the grass pitch turned out to be more of a mud pitch, like a proper Premier League game from the early 90’s. The opponents started the game with 9 player and due to injury finished it with only 7. Despite this, KTH FC had a hard time scoring and the result remained 2-2 until the final minutes of the game when Anton Lundström scored the winning goal and celebrated in great fashion.

The team played in a custom designed jersey that was initially designed as blue but due to problems with delivery and a dispute with the supplier, ended up being white. The jerseys were more of a hockey design than a modern football one.

2013

The second year the club entered the swedish football league system, Stockholm’s division 7. The season started of really well for KTH and the club was fighting at the top with the rival team of the season, Bondegatans Bajare.

The second year was also the year the club adopted the signature royal blue jerseys with white pants.

The team finished 4th in a tough table with a lot of good teams such as Bondegatans Bajare and BK Borsten. Some statistics and articles about the games can be found in the link below.

Matchref="javascript:void(0)"erat 2013:

IF Anthropi-KTH FC: 0-3

IF Anthropi-KTH FC, 3-9.

IF Anthropis tabellplacering, näst sist, speglar deras spel och första halvtimmen dominerar KTH spelet fullständigt.

KTH FC - 2013 i siffror

After finishing 4:th in the series we summarized the season in a couple of pictures. Below you can read about the statistics of the season.

2014

The season started off well with 5 wins in a row against FC Tolkarna, AC Azzuri, SUS IF, Storkyrkopojkarna and FC SPIK. Patrik Renström was the top scorer of the team and it looked like the team might just be able to take the step up to division 6 this year. But unfortunately, the winning streak was exchanged for a losing streak and only captured 1 more point in the last 4 games before the summer break. In the last game before the summer the team managed to draw against Atletico Camelen, 2-2, with an overtime goal from Jacob Arwidsson.

After the summer break the team came back with new energy and managed to win for the first time in a long time. The infamous throw-in monster Lucas Rudqwist surprises everyone except Daniel Lindström with a 30m throw-in that leaves Daniel free with the goalie and he does no mistake but scores. Next time Lindström instead passes the ball to Anton Lundström who rounds the goalie, seems to get out of angle but manages to score, 2-0. Atletico Camelen scores a late overtime goal but KTH wins the game, 2-1.

The fall is like a rollercoaster for the team, winning some, losing some, and even though the team manages to beat the top team IK Makkabi with 5-2 it is not enough for taking the team to division 6. KTH was in 2nd place of the table for a long time and with only 3 games left the team was still in the race for the league title. But with two straight losses, against SUS IF and AC Azzuri, it did not help that the team finished off with win against FC Tolkarna. The team finished in 4th place. The top scorer of the team was Patrik Renström with 11 goals, followed by Daniel Lindström with 5 goals.

For the first time ever the KTH student magazine, Osqledaren (OL), announces a price called Ballon D’OL in order to nominate the best football player of KTH that season. This price is awarded to Patrik Renström as the top-scorer of the team.

2015

The season started off with tifos and bengals in a rapid game against Swedish TV profiles such as Patrik Ekwall, David Fjäll and Jesper Hussfelt. Even though the game ended in a draw, the season ended in glory for the men’s team who won division 7, the first team in KTH FC’s short history to win a series.

Matchref="javascript:void(0)"erat (Dam):

Ingarö IF J – KTH FC 1-2 (0-1)

KTH FC-Järla IF: 3-4.

2-4 ca 33 minuter in i andra halvlek.

KTH FC - Älta IF 2-1 (1-0)

Trots 90 minuter i benen hade vi bra tryck ända in i slutet.

Älta IF - KTH FC Dam (2-4) 4-4

I sista minuten gör Älta 2-4.

Vamos!

FC Sampierdarenese 4 – 4 KTH FC (2- 2)

The first game of the season for the men’s team ended in a bittersweet draw against a star- studded FC Sampierdarenese. There were two teams coming from different directions that clashed at a sunny Djursholms IP this afternoon. We at KTH have had a quite rocky preseason that, despite some good play, resulted in three losses. FC Sampierdarenese on the other hand had been looking really strong, winning four out of four possible games before the start of the regular season.

Maybe it was out of respect for their impressive preseason record, or the pyrotechnics from the FC Sampierdarenese faithful that threw us off our game to start the match. The opponents quickly stormed to a 2-0 lead after the first twenty minutes, but then we started to find our game. The last part of the first half belonged to us as we outplayed and out- ran the opponents. The good play paid off, as Habib was able to score the first goal of the season on a beautiful pass from Carsten. With the deficit cut to one, we kept playing great and managed to score the equalizer just before the whistle blew to signal the end of the first half. Habib rang a long distance shot right off the crossbar and the rebound went to Samuel who distinctly put the ball in the top of the net. Going to the break tied at two, fortunes seemed to favor KTH as we started to take over the game at the end of the first half.

In fifteen minutes to begin the second half, we played our best football in a long time and along with the great play came two quick goals. We took the lead early as August intercepted a pass from a defender and gave it to Habib who made no mistake when put one on one with their keeper to make the game 2- 3 in favor of KTH. The fourth goal came on the best shot of the season as an unassisted Jorge released a screamer from outside the box that sailed directly into the back of the net.

With the score 2- 4, we slowed down the pace a bit and let the opponents into the game. 3- 4 came on a penalty in the middle of the second half and the equalizer came just before the end as miscommunications in the defense led to an unfortunate own goal. FC Sampierdarenese got one of their players sent off in the late stages of the game and with one more man on the pitch, KTH pressed on for the game winning goal. Unfortunately, none of the attempts were fruitful and when the referee put the whistle to his mouth to end the game, the scoreboard read 4-4.

All in all it was a good game that we sometimes felt we could have won. We played really great for long stretches of the game and the fact that we scored four goals testifies to that. Unfortunately, we were not able to pull off our first win of the season, but at least we did not leave the game empty handed. A tie against a very good opponent is something that we at the end of the day feel good about. We thank the referee, FC Sampierdarenese and our small group of devoted fans that came to watch the game for making the season premiere a great experience. Next week, we will make our home debut against Kungsholms FK at Stadshagens IP and hope to see as many of you as possible there!

All the best!

KTH FC

KTH FC – Kungsholms FK 3–2 (1-2)

With the first game at our home field, Stadshagens IP, came the first win of the season against Kungsholms FK. After leaving the first game with just one point despite a healthy playing advantage, we were all hungry for revenge and three points.

This week, we managed to start the game much stronger and did not fall behind early as had been the case in previous contests. We were able to take command of the game from the get go and were rewarded with an early goal from a beautifully engineered corner, drawn up by our coach Alexander. Jorge delivered the ball into the box and after a brief moment of turmoil, Tommy managed to get the ball to the somewhat unlikely goal- scorer James who gave us the lead 1-0.

Up by one, we slowly started to let the opponents back into the game and the equalizer for Kungsholms FK came in the middle of the first half. With the score tied at one, we became a bit anxious and did not create much in the way of offensive opportunities. Instead, for the second game in a row, we got a penalty shot awarded against us. Leo, our goalkeeper for the day, took a chance and dove to the left but the shooter was clinical and put the ball in the opposite corner. 1- 2 was a fact and remained as the score we took with us to the half.

The half time pep- talk was nuclear. Coach Alexander and captain August kept stressing how we were still in the game and had plenty of time to turn things around and we entered the second half as a completely new team. We came out playing at a furious pace, pressuring high and did not let the opponents to our side of the pitch for almost the whole half. This resulted in two great goals, both from the right foot of Shasika. 2-2 came on a free kick from outside the penalty box where Shasika in a moment of pure brilliance managed to curve the ball over the wall and into the top corner of the net. The go- ahead goal came close to the end of the game as the opponents did a poor job clearing the ball from their own penalty box. The ball landed at the feet of Shasika who put in the final goal of the game to seal the score, 3- 2 in favor of KTH FC.

It was a great game that truly tested our character as a team and we showed great morale overcoming the deficit at the half to go on and win the game. We want to extend a special thanks to the fans that came to the game to see us play and to our team photographers, Ludwig and Kenneth. More pictures from the game will be available very soon! We hope that this upwards trend will continue and to see as many of you as possible next week against Storkyrkopojkarna, once again at Stadshagens IP.

Storkyrkopojkarna - KTH FC, 0–3 (0-2)

KTH FC Men secured their second win in a row after a 3-0 victory against Storkyrkopojkarna, a team that were hungry to get their first points of the season. A good result that puts KTH FC in a good position with 7 points after 3 games in Division 7E.

The start of the game was not easy. Storkyrkopojkarna controlled the ball for the first ten minutes, which showed their motivation to stop their losing streak and take their first points at home. KTH played better and better in the first half but without really reaching the level they had at their first two games. By starting to exploiting the wings with our double D's David Malmström and David Koller we got some dangerous occasions and some unexploited corners.

The pressure from KTH continued and it got its fruits when Tommy Lundqvist recieved a great ball from August Ejnarsson and opened the score after a beautiful run from the left side. Like a bowling ball he took out three defenders before putting the ball back of the net.

With one goal ahead, the danger from KTH FC strikers did not stop. Minutes later, August Ejnarsson plays another beautiful ball behind the defending line to Elhabib Moustaid, who alone with the keeper unselfishly passes to Jorge Peydro who put the ball in the net without much trouble (that is dribbleing the goelkeeper when having an open goal).

KTH kept creating chances with a beautiful opportunity directed by Jorge Peydro that unfortunately did not find its way into the net from a right foot finish by Sashika Fernando. Storkyrkopojkarna altough had several chances, but the defensive line and our goalkeeper for the day Vincent Wretling were up to their job.

The dynamic didn’t change at the start of the second half, except for KTH FC playing even better as all the lines coordinated together in a beautiful passing play. Johan Holmqvist played a beautiful free-kick to the head of Kenneth Runnman but the post again saved the opposite team. Tommy Lundqvist had better luck, as he scored KTH FC's first header and hence the third goal of the game.

Up 3-0, KTH FC tried to play smooth and easy and keep possession of the ball while attacking, some missed passes at the middle created good chances for the opposite team, but even up to 3-0 KTH FC remained dangerous with a lot of missed chances at the end of the game.

All in all, it was a game in which KTH showed a really good play, especially on how to keep the advantage in the score. With 7 points in 3 matches, the beginning of the season is looking promising. KTH FC will have the chance to confirm their debuts next week when they face FC Azzurri. An expected tough game that KTH will try to win at home in Stadshagen IP 2, May 9th, 16:00. See you there!

KTH FC – AC Azzurri 3–2 (2-1)

Coming off two straight victories, KTH FC eyed a position at the top of the table when AC Azzurri visited Stadshagens IP. With a win, KTH would climb to a shared top position in division 7 E.

The game started out much better than previous contests, as we were able to minimize individual mistakes and keep the opponents from scoring early. Instead, it was KTH that opened the scoring when we converted on Ludde’s specially designed corner. Jorge delivered the ball from the right corner flag high towards the far post where Martin had managed to escape form coverage. With a well-timed volley, he lobbed the ball high over the keeper and when it finally landed it did so gently in the back of the net. 1-0 KTH.

The Jorge- Martin show was to continue the rest of the game and would be the reason why we managed to come out on top. Just a few moments after the first goal, Jorge dribbled past almost the entire opposing defense before being thrown to the ground inside the penalty box. Martin decided to take the resulting penalty and made no mistake whatsoever from 11 meters. 2-0 KTH was a fact. The lead held all the way to the last minute of the first half when AC Azzurri were able to capitalize on miscommunications in our penalty area and score 2-1 on a loose ball.

In the second half, our play was a bit nervous. We were not able to control the ball as we wished and our attempts to start attacking often fell short, resulting in us getting stuck at midfield. The only real chance we got to extend the lead was when Habib rang a shot off the bar in the middle of the half. Despite getting one man sent off, AC Azzurri were slowly gaining momentum and were ultimately able to tie the game with 15 minutes left to play. For a time, the game looked as it was going to end in a draw before Jorge and Martin decided otherwise. With five minutes left to play, Jorge put a ball down the right side of the pitch and Martin, seemingly twice as fast as any AC Azzurri player in the vicinity caught up to it first. He broke free from the last defender and sealed the score with a hard, low shot, unsaveable for the keeper. That goal gave Martin his third of the day, which makes him the first hat trick hero of the season, congratulations Martin!

We now enter the next round sitting atop the table, the place in which we aim to finish the season. The next game will be against Kronobergs BK, next Saturday at Stadshagens IP. See you all there!

Kronobergs BK – KTH FC 1-2 (1-0)

Yesterday, a matchup at the top of division 7 E took place between first placed KTH FC and a hard fighting Kronobergs BK that were in fourth place, just two points behind. Even in division 7, the margins are slim at the top of the table and it would be a hard fought game on a sunny Stadshagens IP.

The opposing team, Kronobergs BK, played in a higher division last year so we knew that we were up against a high quality team. This showed, as Kronobergs BK was the team that dictated the tempo early on and were able to create the most chances. The most dangerous was a free kick from 25 meters that hit the crossbar cleanly and fortunately enough for KTH bounced away safely. Disaster would eventually strike after about 30 minutes as we conceded the first goal of the game due to an individual error and passive play in our penalty area. The goal took the wind out of our sails, and when our striker Habib had to leave the game with an injury, the outlooks for the game seemed bad.

Losing at the half, we entered the locker room for the half time break with hanging heads, but our captain August were not going to allow a defeat. He and Vincent, who was the coach for the day, got us all fired up and we came out playing as a completely new team. In the second half, we took control of the game directly from the kick off. We quickly found our game and did not let Kronobergs BK touch the ball for long periods of time. This wore the opponents down and KTH FC were quickly getting control of the game, thanks in large part to a heroic effort Tommy and Samuel.

If the last game was won thanks to the brilliant play of Jorge and Martin, this game belonged to Tommy and Samuel who were constantly able to sprint through Kronobergs defense and create dangerous scoring opportunities. Not surprisingly, the duo also accounted for both the goals we scored today. The first goal came in the middle of the second half after Samuel released a low shot that the keeper had a hard time handling. The rebound went to Tommy who resolutely put the ball into the net. For the second goal, the roles would be reversed. Tommy balanced on the extended goal line, dribbling past a couple of defenders before finding Samuel wide open in the slot, who clinically netted the game winner ten minutes before full time. We then were able to close out the game due to the brilliant defensive play from Amine, Johan, James, Ludvig and Isak on the defensive line.

Once again, KTH managed to come back from an early deficit and turn the game around, testifying testified to our character as a team. The win helped us strengthen our position as the top team in the table for yet another week. Next game will be against Lidingö Gazoliners at Stadshagens IP at 16:00 on Saturday May 23. See you there!

/KTH FC

KTH FC – Lidingö Gazoliners FC 3-0 (2-0)

Yesterday, KTH FC faced off against the second placed Lidingö Gazoliners at Stadshagens IP. Coming into the game, KTH had won four straight games and we were all hungry to come out on top to solidify our place at the top of the table.

The game started out with a scare as our goalkeeper, Leo, sprained his ankle while landing awkwardly when intercepting a cross ball. Just four minutes into the game, we stood without a goalkeeper and were in desperate need of advice. The man rising to the occasion was Erik who fearlessly took over between the posts and stepped in as our hero for the day.

We did not let this early setback bring us down, coach Vincent quickly re-shuffled his players to correct for the goalkeeper substitution and we were quickly back on track. For most of the first half, we were able to keep the ball within the team and manage the game as we wanted it, but we did not produce much in the way of scoring chances. This all changed as the dynamic duo of Jorge and Martin reconnected and displayed the same magic as a couple of weeks ago.

The first goal came as Martin got control of the ball and found Jorge in stride downfield. Jorge quickly lost two defenders and calmly put the ball past the opponent’s goalkeeper to give KTH the lead. Before the whistle blew for half time, we were able to extend the lead as a period of really strong play came to fruition. With some swift play and quick combinations, August got free deep in the opponent’s penalty area and showed great split- vision as he managed to find an open Shasika with a cut back and 2-0 to KTH was a fact.

Heading to the locker room with a commanding lead and a healthy playing advantage was a slightly weird sensation, as we previously have been involved in very tight contests. Acting head coach Vincent was satisfied, but stressed the importance of not thinking the game was over and to keep pushing for more goals, and that was exactly what we came out doing in the second half.

As we continued to pressure the opponents high on their side of the pitch, they grew tired and we started to take over the game completely. In his first game back from a long injury absence, Patrik continuously threatened the opponent’s defenders and stressed them into committing individual mistakes, resulting in scoring chances for us. Unfortunately, we were unable to convert on any of these chances and the comeback king left the game scoreless today.

Instead, it was Jorge who once again found twine. This time, he released a left- footed shot that was blocked on a self- sacrificing play by the opposing defender but Jorge was quickly able to corral the rebound and put the ball into a relatively open net. The goal meant 3- 0 to KTH and thanks to brilliant play in the defensive line, it would turn out to be the final score.

We would like to thank the fans for the support the whole game and extend an extra round of applause to Erik in goal. With his calm playing style and quick reflexes, he was able to shut out the opponents the entire game and seal the win for KTH.

We now look forward to next week as we face off against FC Tolkarna on Friday 29/5 at 20:00. We all hope to se as many of you as possible there!

KTH FC (men) – FC Tolkarna 8-0 (2-0)

KTH FC signs a record win this season in Division 7E after beating FC Tolkarna 8-0 Friday evening at Stadshagen IP 2. KTH FC controlled the match from the beginning till the very end. No chances were left for the opponent of the day.

The start of the match was smooth and KTH tried as usual to impose their style of passing and constructing the ball from the back line, up to the front. Tolkarna imposed however a physical challenge conducting the game to be stopped for small fouls all the time.

First chances came early in the game. Despite a good effort from Patrick and Jorge, the first shots did not find their way in. After around 15 minutes, Jorge scored a brilliant goal from a great pass from Ludde. A goal that made us more relaxed trying to develop better our way of playing.

The effort paid off as Kedert found the net just before the break from a Tommy’s assist. The goalkeeper, Vincent had relatively calm match but he had to make an intervention at the very end of the first half.

The halftime talk focused on how to be more efficient at the construction in order to get the ball faster to the front position while not losing control of the game, the talk between all the players and the coach of the day Habib left us determined to keep on our scoring spirit and not care much about our 2-0 lead.

In that spirit, we started the second half with the ambition of scoring. Chances kept flowing from literally everyone in the team. Goals came shortly after. 3-0 came from a beautiful lobbed ball of Martin after a pass behind the defensive line from Patrik. Shortly after, an eager Tommy got assisted by Jorge and took without trouble down 3 opponents before making the lead 4-0.

The aggressive play of Tolkarna gave a lot off free-kicks, Sashika converted one of them into a beautiful goal at the bottom right corner, a beauty to watch.

The game kept on, and a very hungry Patrik scored finally after several attempts, Jorge was in charge of the assist. The game did not stop at 6-0, Patrik found his way to the net after a rebound of a well-played free-kick from Johan. To end the game, a long range shot from Jorge ended the scoring festival (8-0). The score would be even more if other chances from August, Ludde, Amine or Samuel had better luck.

We would like to thank the fans for the support the whole game and of course the player on insisting on giving us a beautiful show of goals. KTH comforts its leading position more than ever and with a comfortable goal average.

The goal of the next game is to extend our winning streak to a 7th win in a row, to comfort our leading position. It will be against SuS IF in Stadshagen IP1, June 6th, 16:00. See you there

KTH FC - SuS 6-2 (5-0)

The second last game before the summer was played yesterday at Stadshagen IP. KTH FC came to the match with a strong 8-0 win in the last fixture and were looking to extend their good form against SuS who so far struggled in the bottom half of the division.

Just as the game was starting the rain clouds drifted away and the sun shined down on the white knights of KTH. A perfect day for football which minutes later got the perfect start as Martin, who very sadly played his last game of the season got released by captain Ejnarsson on the left flank. Martin was eager to leave KTH with bang and made no mistake when calmly placing the ball in the right corner out of touch from the stationary keeper. A guy who 45 minutes later would look back on quite though first half.

KTH FC kept moving the ball over the green pitch and showed very high quality, that is divison 7 wise but nontheless, played really promising which soon would bring real value as striker of the day Kedert was looking to add to his tally. After a good combination with first goalscorer Martin, Kedert got free in the center of the field and lured the keeper to put his weight on the wrong foot followed by a quick "tåpaj" in the other corner.

Just moments after the second goal keeper Vincent steps forward in a decisive moment as he flies through the air and touches a close quarter header into the crossbar and out. A brilliant save which keeps the clean sheet for the moment and let KTH FC play on with a two goal advantage.

The clock had only showed 20 minutes but KTH was not satisfied and were keen to show their newly returned coach just how good they could be. Another goal followed quickly as Jorge dribbled and were torn down in the penalty area. Forward stepped a happy Amine who earlier had gotten the promise from coach Alex to be the penalty taker since this also was his last game for KTH FC. He will forever be remebered in our hearts but also in the scoring sheet as he smashed the penalty in the top left corner and thus secured 3-0 to the white knights.

4-0 also followed as Tommy who substituted as a striker got a pass from the midfield and made a magic turn which left the whole opposing defense buying hotdogs on the sidline. Alone with the poor keeper he finished calmly to the right and KTH was off to a fantastic start.

Before the half-time whistle the SuS keeper however would have to pick another ball out from the net. Holmqvist sent in a freekick which captain Ejnarsson in Giroud like manners somhow got down and were able to finish.

The second half were a bit tougher as the SuS coach apperantly and understandable hade given them a real shoutout and they came out as a new team and scored two quick goals turning the store to 5-2. The game continued and as both teams got more tired the quality went down. KTH altough had a lot of good opportuneties but the only one who converted his chance was Koller from a hard one touch shot after a good pass from Martin.

The game ends 6-2 to KTH which is a result the keeps us in the top of the table. Next game is against Makkabi and is played on Stadshagen 14/6 20:00. Be there for KTH Last game before the summer break.

Two honorable mentions goes out Martin Gustafsson Magnusson and Amine Wahbi as they play their last game for KTH, both leaving for International careers. We thank both of you for your great contributions and hopefully we'll see you again in the KTH FC colors sometime. You'll truly be missed, but not forgotten!

KTH FC – IK Makkabi 1-0 (0-0)

The last game before the summer was played yesterday at Stadshagen IP. KTH FC finished the first part of the season with a 1-0 win against an aggressive IK Makkabi, consolidating the lead of Division 7E with 5 points advantage. The game however was anything but easy.

After a rainy morning the clouds drifted away and the sun shined over Stadhagen IP 2, where the men team of KTH had their last game of the spring half season. Due to the victory of Lidingö Gazoliners over FC Sampierdarenese, KTH FC were sure to be the spring champions, but it was important to keep the winning steak and make our position stronger in the division. IK Makkabi who stand in the fifth position were determined to take three points away, which promised a very good game.

The game started with the visiting team taking the game at their hand, imposing aggressively their tempo, to which KTH players needed some time to react. Makkabi had a chance to score from a cross from the left side, but Vincent was there to save the goals. Meanwhile the 10 other player got hold of the game, and the domination of IK Makkabi would last only 10 to 15 minutes, the time KTH machine needed to warm.

KTH started playing some fine football, balls on the ground in a beautiful passing style, to which IK Makkabi reacted with a lot of aggressive interventions. Tommy extracted a ball 30 meters from the goal, and after dribbling the last defender he got a tackle from behind, the referee decided only to warn the last defender with a yellow card, even if there is a discussion that the defender could get a more severe warning as Tommy was clearly heading alone to open the score. Many chances came after that from Martin, Jorge and David without any success. The physical play of IK Makkabi resulted in a lot of free-kicks that were well played without finishing in the net. IK Makkabi were defending well at all the set-pieces.

The first half finished 0-0 and KTH were clearly the best side for the major part. At the locker room, we agreed to keep playing the same and be confident that the goals would come, trying also to play the set-pieces shorter and count on the full-backs to bring the ball up-front in combinations with Kenneth and August.

The second half went indeed that way, many chances were created but without success, until Jorge serves Martin on the left flank, who passes the ball to David and there was the goal of 1-0

…, but the referee had another opinion, David is arguably offside, as for us it seemed Martin was even front of David when the pass was done.

KTH kept focusing and only two minutes after that, exactly the same action were played, Jorge to Martin, Martin to David, who was a fraction of a second late this time and missed the chance to score. A pity when you see how KTH controlled the game.

At the end of the game KTH pressed even more and a lot of corners were obtained, the game was intense and the last corner of the game would show to be the decisive one. Jorge crossed the ball to the first post and Kenneth magically stepped up as the last minute hero to force the ball into the net from a close quarter header. Crazy celebration broke out among the team as the well-deserved goal turned the game into a well-deserved lead. IK Makkabi had ultimately no time and no force to get back to the game.

This game shows especially the character of KTH FC players, who even with all the physical contacts, and all the bad luck kept believing in three points to the last second of the game, and they were paid-off with a beautiful last minute win.

This marks our 8 win in a row, KTH ends the first half of the season leading the ranking with:

25 points out of 27,

best attack with 33 goals and

best defense with 11 conceded goals.

Our next game is against the same opponent after the summer break and our goal is to extend our winning streak and keep our positive spirit. We would like to thank all the fans who supported us during the summer spring, and we will see you in 8 weeks.

KTH FC wish you all a great summer!

KTH FC (Men) - IK Makkabi 3-1 (1-1)

There was a bunch of really excited guys that showed up at Stadshagen IP to kick of the second part of the division after the summer break. KTH FC had after a really impressive spring placed themselves in the top of the league after an incredible unbeaten run. So not suprisingly the team were eager to continue their winning streak but to manage that a hungry and hard to beat IK Makkabi stood in the way.

The game started out quite well for KTH, the ball went around the team as instructed earlier in the dressing room and a Tommy who looked in great shape after the summer quickly got away on his left flank, causing trouble for the opposition. Minutes later he found Habib in the central area with a beautiful through ball that Habib distinctively placed in the right corner giving KTH the lead. At least that was how it should have been but the ref, who minutes earlier had given both Tommy and Koller a yellow card each for substituting 1m away from the center of the pitch (?), found an offside and the goal did not count!

After the initial good start from KTH Makkabi took over. Their long balls from the back started to cause trouble and minutes later they would payoff in the score sheet. A long ball that didn't managed to be headed away dropped down in front of the Makkabi striker and 0 - 1 was a fact. After that Makkabi pushed on an KTH didn't really get hold of the ball.

In the 37' minute things would change. The ref got injured after a corner and a 5 minutes timeout was given. KTH took advantage of the opportunity and got together for a quick talk. After that things changed. The ball was given more care and passes were getting better. That resulted in a good change that was cleared away but Samuel got to the rebound and lauched the ball back into the penalty area where Shasiska had lingered on and in a beautiful way head touched the ball backwards over the keeper and in the net! 1-1 was the result that also minutes later became the half time score

Second half started out ok for both teams but there wasn't much of a good play. It really felt that it was the first game after the summer. However with three points in sight KTH FC started to take over the game. in the 60' minute Samuel combined with Tommy who with a cute back heel passed the ball through the defense to a dashing August who with a quick turn to the right got passed the last defender and placed the ball into the net. The arena went wild and 2-1 was well deserved for KTH who had been the better team overall.

In the final stages KTH pushed on and a IK Makkabi team that became tired couldn't keep up. Habib got through in the middle and went down with a doubutful tackle which resulted in a penalty. Shasika calmly stepped forward and smashed the ball into the right, out of touch for the keeper.

The game finished that way and 3-1 was the final score which resulted in three fresh points for KTH FC and a bit of breathing space in the top.

It's really good to be back on the pitch and even if the team looked a bit struck by vacation the fall seasons is looking promising!

KTH FC (Men) – SuS IF 2-1 (1-0)

No 9 without a 10. KTH FC continues its winning streak after scoring a tough and 10th consecutive win against SuS IF at Stadshagen IP 2.

In a warm Saturday, probably a little too warm for our team that had some of the players just returning from the summer break, Ludde, Isak, Carsten, Patrikson and the list goes on. The lack of stamina could have been more severe to our team.

Without coach Alex, neither captain August, it was Tommy who took charge of organizing the team and Shasika endorsed gladly the captain. Kedert steped in to take charge of goal-keeping as both keepers are not back yet. Combining this with the hot weather and the new faces, the challenge was big against SuS IF today.

The game could not start any better. In fact, just minutes after the start of the game, the double D’s (David + David) combined quite well and a pass from Koller to Malmström resulted in a first goal. A goal that could put KTH FC at ease, but somehow it did not. 1-0 could turn to be 2-0 at many times and the most obvious one came just minutes after. Habib received twice the ball form David, missed a lob at the first one and missed the second because of a good effort from the goal keeper of SuS IF.

The first half went on, with SuS IF imposing an aggressive tempo, KTH FC combined good and bad periods, struggling to build up as they usually do.

During the good periods Carsten as well as Double D’s and Tommy efforts could have led to a more comfortable score, but without Kedert brilliance in the goal, the game would have had a different turn. A ball on the post for SuS IF was their best chance.

The second half could have a similar start to the first one. David Koller gave a perfect cross to Habib, who couldn’t put the ball at the back of the net, as SuS IF keeper changed slightly the ball’s trajectory to discomfort Habib. The rest of the second half did not differ a lot from the first one. KTH FC altering between some good phases and bad ones. Malmström had a great chance to score a second goal only to see his ball on the post. Other chances came from free-kicks but unlucky and very inconsistent play today kept the score 1-0.

The good effort of Kedert continued to keep the sheet clean, with a brilliant Johan who kept his nerves calm presenting a solid match.

The last five minutes had more action, first as SuS IF misses a header that could have finished in the net, and then from a corner to SuS Jon, JW, Waldenström saved the ball on the line giving SuS IF yet another corner. Johan intercepts it with a header; the ball went to Gustav who assisted Habib who put the ball at the back of the net, after passing the keeper. 2-0, KTH FC minds were at ease. Little too much maybe, as a minute later, from a free-kick, a header gave SuS IF a goal that was so late to revive their hope. 2-1 was the final score.

A conclusion to this game can be that it takes a great team to win even when they are not in their best day. The win was deserved anyhow, as SuS IF did not play better than KTH, only KTH FC has put their standard high during the season and today we hardly met those standards. The positive side is that most of the team is now back and we expect to do better in the next games.

Now KTH stands with 8 points on the lead, facing next week FC Tolkarna at Stadshagen IP 2.

FC Tolkarna - KTH FC Herr 0-2 (0-1)

KTH FC Men continues its winning streak with an 11 win in a row, as victory was the outcome of the game against Tolkarna this Saturday afternoon at Stadshagen IP 2.

August weather continues to be hot and sunny, and as last week, the Saturday game was played in warm conditions. KTH FC is getting in shape as more people are back from vacation, and the trainings are starting to get more and more crowded. Lukas played his first game of the season, and Robert stepped up to protect our net for a last time before Leo’s return. Erik and Kenneth pulled out of squad due to sickness. The motivation was high to keep the winning streak and hold the first position in Division 7E.

The game started easy and smooth, and KTH FC was able to control the play without being particularly brilliant. The first minutes were characterized by a sterile period of pushing forward from KTH players. The aggressive of Tolkarna gave few free-kicks to KTH FC. They were not however well-exploited. Lukas brilliance in Throw-ins was the first light of the game as a long throw on Patriksson’s head gave KTH the first goal of the game. An Excellent execution of a throw that the two players have apparently worked on before, and apparently talked about just before they got on the pitch.

The rest of the first half was not any different, KTH kept pushing but with a hesitant, sometimes inconsistent, play and not many good choices when passing. A speedy Habib could profit however from a mistake in Tolkarna’s camp, but his shot was stopped by the keeper. Tolkarna’s lonely chance was from a free-kick that would have been at the back of the net if it was not for an utterly splendid intervention from Robert. The first half finished with a 1-0 score, even if some left-side runs from Tommy could give another outcome.

The halftime talk was important as we spoke about what was it that we miss in this was game to turn our control into goals. We started the second half with the intention of keeping simple play and relying more on our flanks.

The strategy paid off really well, as David, Tommy and Ludde had a lot more chances and created a lot more chances at the second half. Habib had a first opportunity after a pass from Ludde but his ball was on the post. Shasi had a free kick that was unsuccessful. Carsten shot after a pass from Tommy was stopped by the keeper, to mention only few chances. The solid defense provided balls the midfielders and attacker for most of the 45 minutes and left no chance to the opponents of the day.

The second goal however came from a penalty. Another run from Tommy and a dribble at the adversary box provoked a foul. Shasi the specialist put it on the bottom-left corner. 2-0!

Even if the good play continued, our attack kept sterile, the most notable chance was David’s chance that got stopped, again, by the goal keeper. 2-0 was the finale score.

All in all, the game was not so hard, and KTH FC plays better and better, the score could have been larger but it does not matter as 3 points were guaranteed. Now KTH stands with 5 points on the lead facing next week the second of the league Lidingö Gazoliners FC in Breviks IP 1. A win can give KTH a serious chance to finish the season at the top position. Your support is particularly needed for this game.

Lidingö Gazoliners FC – KTH FC Herr 0 – 3 (0 – 1)

The men’s team has started the second half of the season on a strong run, winning all three games after the summer break with some players still enjoying the last days of summer in all corners of the world. Yesterday however, the majority of the players were back in Stockholm for the start of a new semester at KTH and also the most important game of the season so far.

The opponents to be played were the second placed Lidingö Gazoliners FC in a game that was touted as our most important yet. If KTH FC were able to pull out a win, we would grab a commanding lead of the table but if Lidingö would stand victorious at the end of the day, things would be much tighter at the top. We knew what was at stake as we gathered at the beautiful Breviks IP under the warm, late August sun.

Fortunately, we have dropped our habit from earlier in the season of conceding early goals and having to fight from behind. The game started out evenly and Lidingö played some great soccer early on and were able to put some pressure on our defense. But due to solid defensive play from Johan and Andreas and the occasional qualified save from home comer Leo in the net, we were able to keep the score tied for the first 15 minutes. The first goal came eventually as a period of solid play led to a corner for KTH FC. Jorge was tasked to take it and curved it swiftly towards the near post. Confusion erupted in the penalty box and eventually the ball lied in the back of the net, courtesy of a Lidingö defender. Own goal, Lidingö Gazoliners FC 0-1 KTH FC.

After the goal, Lidingö fought back and got into the game again. We were not able to establish our game the way we wanted and were often unable to move the ball past midfield. The passes became sloppy and Lidingö quickly regained possession of the ball. The biggest scare came five minutes from half time as Lidingö were able to score a goal, which was luckily waved off as offside and we entered the break up 1-0.

The second half was somewhat a different story. KTH FC came out playing with much more confidence and the passing game that went missing somewhere late in the first half came back in full force. We were able to slowly wear down the opponents with our quick ball movement and eventually it paid off. Jorge, who showed no signs of rust in his first game back from summer break, got the ball at midfield and sprinted past the entire defensive side and fired a shot at the net. The opposing goalkeeper managed to make an impressive save but could not corral the rebound and the ball went straight to the right foot of Habib who put it in the back of the net with surgical precision.

Up two goals at the middle of the second half, we started playing arguably our best soccer of the season. All the training hours showed to have started paying off as the coaches’ vision came to fruition on the scenic natural grass pitch in the south of Lidingö. We moved the ball with confidence and found creative passing combinations all over the field. The opponents grew frustrated and had no chance but repeatedly fouling our players. This unsustainable tactic inevitably resulted in a penalty kick that Jorge resolutely put into the back of the net.

As the game wound down we had bids for at least two more goals but the game ended with the score of 0-3 in favor of KTH FC. This means that the gap to the closest team in the table is now 8 points as we head into the final five games of the season. Next week we will be back home at Stadshagens IP, facing off against fifth placed Kronobergs BK and hope to see as many of you as possible in attendance!

KTH FC Herr – Kronobergs BK 3 – 3 (2 – 1)

Yesterday, the men’s team squared off against fifth placed Kronobergs BK for the second time this season at home at Stadshagens IP. The previous meeting was a hard fought battle in which KTH fell behind early but managed to fight back and score the game winning goal in the last dying minutes of the game. This week, the game once again turned out to be a close contest and this time, both teams left Stadshagens IP with one point each.

KTH FC started out strongly, moving the ball confidently and keeping possession for a long time in the start of the game, but the opponents were able to defend well and the early advantage did not materialize in any goals. Instead, Kronoberg found their game and started to threaten a bit more and the biggest part of the first half turned out to be an evenly matched, scoreless contest. The first goal eventually came and it was a goal that put KTH FC up 1 – 0. Ludde was substituted in at left back and wasted little time making his presence known on the pitch. He advanced with the ball and breached through the opponents’ midfield and found Patrik who resolutely put the ball in the back of the net.

The lead would not last long as Kronoberg managed to score the equalizer on the next play. A long ball from their side of the pitch sailed over our defensive line and our goalkeeper Leo did not manage to get out in time, leaving the Kronoberg striker free to lob the ball into the net. 1 – 1 was a fact and the lead erased in a matter of minutes. Despite the setback we continued to play strong. We kept the game even and eventually got the playing advantage, which resulted in a beautiful goal when Tommy and Patrik found some great passing combinations on the left wing. Tommy got the ball to Patrik who swiftly flicked it back to Tommy, who beat two defenders before putting the ball past Kronobergs’ goalkeeper. The goal was the final goal of the first half and we entered the half time break up 2 – 1. We were feeling pretty comfortable with the way the first half ended. With a slight playing advantage and a one goal lead, things were looking bright to start the second half.

Indeed, the second half started out on a bright note as Patrik, the man of the match, scored a serious contender for the goal of the season. He got the ball from David on the right wing and from an almost impossible angle fired a shot across the goal in the top of the net. 3 -1 was a fact and we found ourselves in a great spot to pull out yet another win. Defending the lead was however no small feat as Kronoberg kept on playing well and the payoff would eventually come. The first goal came courtesy of an unfortunate mistake as an errant pass from Leo found the opponents’ striker who put it into the empty net. Somewhat fazed and confused by this cheap goal, we quickly conceded the equalizer as a long throw in sailed across the penalty box and landed on the feet of an unmarked Kronoberg player who easily scored from five meters out. The last 20 minutes of the game was one of the hardest periods we have faced all season. Distressed by surrendering a two goal lead, we did not manage to establish our game as we slowly grew frustrated. Instead of focusing on getting back to the way we want to play, we played anxiously and gave possession of the ball away to the opponents’ time and time again. The closest we got to a game deciding goal was a solo performance from Patrik who released a quick shot from outside opponents’ penalty box, but unfortunately it hit the post.

It felt a bit tough leaving the pitch with just one point, especially as we once had a commanding lead. Kronoberg did however play a great game and at the end of the day both teams can feel pretty satisfied with the tied result. We still try to take the positive aspects of yesterdays game with us to next week when we face AC Azzurri in an important game at Stadshagens IP. As always, we hope to see you there!

AC Azzurri – KTH FC Herr 2 -1 (1 -1)

This past Sunday, the KTH FC men’s team took on AC Azzurri on Stadshagens IP. Coming off a tie game against Kronobergs BK last week that saw the long winning streak come to a halt after twelve straight games, the team seemed focused on getting back to the winning side of the score sheet and get three new points against one of our harshest rivals.

The game started off great as we were able to enforce pressure on the opponents deep into their own territory and force them to make mistakes early and often. For the first ten minutes, the game was under our control. Feeling pressed back, the opponents tried to lift their lines of defense and this was when we were able to score the first goal of the game. Capitalizing on the defense playing high on the field, a sweeping ball from our defense was headed forward to Tommy with subtle precision by Patrik. Tommy then effortlessly found Jorge who after a quick one two with the opposing keeper put his own rebound in the back of the net. We kept pushing hard after the goal and got a few chances to score some more, but we did not convert and Jorge’s goal would unfortunately be the only one scored from a KTH player this evening.

Our fortunes were reversed after a while. Azzurri lobbed a ball without direction into our penalty box and a messy situation ensued where the ball was bouncing around and blue jerseys were falling like flies. Somewhere in the frenzy, the referee found something he thought warranted a penalty kick and put the whistle to his mouth. The ensuing penalty was put into the net by the Azzurri captain and the score was all of a sudden tied.

This is where we enter the part of the game which isn’t really entertaining to write about. We knew going in that Azzurri would be playing a physical game and ever so often voice their discontent with the referee’s decisions. This distraction, together with the fact that some free kicks and a couple of yellow cards seemed uncalled-for by from a KTH point of view, appeared to get into our heads. We did lose our collective temper and had a hard time playing the kind of game we excel at. Carsten and Jorge deserve much praise for continuously fighting the hard battles at midfield, even though not much seemed to go our way towards the end of the first half.

We managed to cool our heads at the break and came out playing calmer and better to start the second half, but did unfortunately not manage to score. There was going to be one more goal that evening, but unfortunately it would go against us. After a short period of scramble inside our own penalty box, the ball found its way to the Azzurri striker who lifted the ball past a charging Leo. Down one goal we tried to fight back but all attempts were sadly fruitless and as the referee signaled the end of the game, the first loss of the season was a fact.

It was certainly tough losing our first game of the season and especially in such a fashion that we did. We will try to put this game behind us as soon as possible and come back to our usual high form as we face off against Storkyrkopojkarna at Stadshagens IP next Friday. We hope you will join us!

KTH FC Herr - Storkyrkopojkarna 8 – 2 (2 – 0)

As of late, fortunes have been somewhat reversed for the men’s team. Coming off a stretch where we uncharacteristically were able to get just one point in two games, it was a focused group of guys that gathered under the bright Friday night lights at Stadshagens IP, looking to get back on the winning side of the score sheet.

As the game started, there was no question that we were back to true form. We were able to pressure the opponents early and high on their side of the pitch, leading them to make mistakes and giving us repeated chances to score. It was Jorge who eventually was able to break the deadlock as he was served the ball from Shasika and scored on a volley from inside the penalty box. Before the first half was over, we were able to score yet again as Patrik, served up by Lucas, managed to find the back of the net. Storkyrkopojkarna were however able to hold us to only two goals in the first half, despite us having a healthy playing advantage. They were also able to threaten our goal a couple of times, but strong play from our defense saw that the net remained untouched.

The second half was a literal explosion, and as trying to recount every goal as it happened would make this story far too long to read, no less to write, here comes a quick rundown of the major highlights of the half. Erik started the scoring early as he was assisted by Isak, then Tommy got the ball from August and sailed it into the net from an almost impossible angle from his position on the left wing. Then it was time for Patrik to score both his second and third goals of the game as David accelerated up the right wing and found him unmarked in the middle on two attacks that were carbon copies of each other. In the midst of this offensive frenzy, Storkyrkopojkarna also managed to score a goal of their own as Leo brought down one of their striker in the penalty box, who calmly converted on the ensuing penalty.

In a game that had a bit off everything, there was also time for a heartfelt goodbye. Habib, one of our most valuable players and leading scorers this season played his last game with the team this Friday. When we were rewarded with a penalty shot late in the game, August quickly subbed himself out to make room for Habib and give him the opportunity to score one last time in the KTH shirt. Habib has made a habit of scoring difficult goals all season so it may come as no surprise that when put alone, eleven meters from the opponent’s keeper, he made no mistake and gave us a 7 – 1 lead.

As the game wound down, both teams were able to score once more. Our last goal came from the feet of Shasika who was assisted by Isak and Storkyrkopojkarna were able to score one last goal on a counter attack in the end of the game. When all was said and done, KTH FC stood victorious with the impressive scoreline of 8 – 2.

The team finally wants to thank Habib once more for the great season and the important goals as we play the final two games without him. Next week, we play Kungsholms FK on Saturday at Stadshagens IP and hope to see you all there!

Kungsholms FK – KTH FC Herr 1 – 5 (0 – 3)

Those of you who have been following the updates on this page regularly may know that the men’s team have been playing strong and holding on to the lead of the tough division 7E for almost the entire season. Before yesterday’s game against Kungsholms FK, only two games remained and the race for the division title was not yet settled. The gap down to the second and third placed teams had lessened after KTH FC hit a rough patch and dropped points in two consecutive games in the end of August. However, the outcome of the division was still in the hands of the proud players of KTH FC, since just one more win would secure the division title.

The last time we faced off against Kungsholms FK we played a tight game in which we managed to score the game winning goal late in the second half. This time around, it would be quite another story. As was the case last week, we started off pressuring the other team high on their side of the pitch which lead to a massive playing advantage in the beginning of the game. One thing we have struggled a bit with in earlier games is to convert the many scoring chances we produce, but today we were on point from the beginning. Daniel opened the scoring after just one minute of play as he was assisted by David. The very next attack by KTH FC resulted in a corner kick that Jorge, true to form, delivered perfectly into the penalty box. This time around, it was not one of the usual goal scoring suspects who managed to get the ball into the net, but our defensive warrior James who managed to be Johnny on the spot and get his second goal of the season. The next goal had to wait another 15 minutes, but then it was time for Mikael to pass the ball to Jorge who netted the ball from quite a distance out.

That goal put a stop to the scoring in a rather one sided the first half, and the second half would not be any more even. 4 – 0 came as Jorge was mowed down in the opponents’ penalty area and Shasika clinically converted the ensuing penalty. For the fifth goal of the evening, we find a debutant in the goal scoring protocol. After a tumultuous scenario in Kungsholms FK’s penalty area, David somehow got the ball through to Carsten who distinctly shot the ball into the top of the net for his first goal in the KTH FC jersey this season. With five minutes left to play, Kungsholms FK got a consolidation goal from a free kick as Leo seemingly fell asleep mid- save and let a not too difficult shot sail into the net.

This did not matter however, as the game was already sealed. The victory meant that the point difference to the chasing teams is now too great to overcome and that KTH FC are the champions of division 7E. It is hard to put into text how great it feels to have pulled through a long season together and to finally come out on top. Throughout the season, there have been some ups and downs but we have constantly been able to pull together and come out as a stronger team to face the challenges put in our way. We have time and time again showed signs of brilliant individual effort, but most of all, this team has flourished as a great group of guys enjoying playing football together. We thank all of you who have supported us throughout the season and end with a message from our captain, August Ejnarsson.

- This has been an amazing season and I'm so proud of the team and everyone who has been a part of this club and the journey we have made.

We only started out 3 years ago with divisional play and even if this is Division 7 it's never easy to win a title. We've always had high ambitions for this club and this trophy really shows that we can live up to it. With all the football quality we have here at KTH this is just the beginning. Now we celebrate this title and next season Divison 6 awaits, be ready for us, cause you're gonna need it!

VAMOS KTH FC!

KTH FC Herr – FC Sampierdarenese 3 – 2 (2 – 1)

The men’s team strong season in division 7E came to an end last Friday as KTH FC hosted FC Sampierdarenese for the last game of the season. The previous game against FC Sampierdarenese turned out to be a tough affair that eventually ended in a 4-4 tie. That meant that before Friday, FC Sampierdarenese was the only team in the division that KTH FC had not yet beaten. Even though the league title was secured last week, it was a fully focused group of guys that gathered at the pitch, and it would be 90 tough minutes of football before the champagne started flowing over the artificial grass at Stadshagens IP.

The atmosphere was fantastic to start the game, as both teams had brought along quite sizable supporter groups. The FC Sampierdarenese faithful showed their usual sense for the extravagant that we now have come to expect and served up an impressive buffet of pyrotechnical devices just as the game kicked off. When the air cleared, it was KTH who took the command early and we were rewarded after just a few minutes. Johan soared a free kick from the halfway line that landed in a busy FC Sampierdarenese penalty box where August, by his own account, managed to perform a Zlatanesque back heel lob over the opposing keeper with his back against the goal. Our second goal was almost as impressive and came about from a brilliant individual effort from Jorge. Jorge has during the season time after time shown that he has an absolute canon for a right leg and it showed itself once again this game. After leaving a couple opposing defenders in the dirt, he released a knuckleball from around 25 meters out that wobbled all over the place, before finally ricocheting off the far post and in.

The second half turned out a lot tougher as the game became increasingly physical. We lost the lead we carried with us from half time in the middle of the second half and continued to face a massive pressure from the opponents as they pressed on for a win that would help them secure the runner- up spot in the table. Emotions ran high as players from both sides were spurred by the support from the fans and the duels increased in both quantity and intensiveness. In the battle, we lost two key players in Isak and Mikael that had to get off the field after they both received dirty and dangerous tackles. We kept on fighting despite missing two players and were eventually rewarded with a goal that got us our lead back. FC Sampierdarenese started pressuring high, leading to opportunities on the counter attack. The goal came as Carsten managed to outsprint the FC Sampierdarenese players to find Daniel wide open in the penalty box. Daniel showed poise and precision when he was put one on one against the keeper and sealed the final score 3 -2 KTH FC. In the end, our defense played very strong to keep the ball out of our net. An extra round of applause should go to Johan Kitti who replaced an injured Leo between the posts and made some crucial, game winning saves as time wound down.

It is now time to close the book on the 2015 season in division 7 for KTH FC. It was a great season in which we managed to beat all teams in the division in our way to victory. We are happy that so many of you came out to watch this game and to celebrate with us and want to thank everybody for the support throughout the season. We’ll see you next year in Division 6!

/KTH FC

2016

Since the men’s team won division 7, 2016 kicked off in division 6. The first season was a tough one for the team and it was not until the very end that the team avoided degradation back to division 7.

New for the season was that the club now had a B-team as well, playing in the Swedish reserve league. A group of players from the A-team, together with a lot of new players, decided that it was time to try something different and since the interest for playing football at KTH was huge they formed a new team. The team played very well already from the start, winning it’s first game 8-1, and after that it just kept going. The team won every game but one in their first season, close to perfection if it hadn’t been for that one loss against Oranje. So in their first year of existence, the team scored 48 goals, won 9 out of 10 games and won their series by a margin of 6 points.

After the season the founders of the club, Johan Kitti Söderberg and Andreas Patriksson, together with the people who had played there since the founding of it stepped down. The club was preceded by new, younger students who is now to carry out the legacy of the club. From the start in 2011 the club has grown from just a bunch of classmates playing in Korpen to KTH’s official football club with 3 teams (both men and women) and more than 60 active players from all different programs of school.

Skå IK 5-5 KTH FC (B) (Friendly)

A great team effort resulted in an exciting 5-5 draw against Skå IK for only the second match of the history for the B-team of KTH FC.

It was an extremely tough start to the game as some communication errors from KTH led to Skå IK taking a 3-0 lead after less than 30 minutes on the clock. But after a superb free-kick by Mustafa, that reduced Skå IK’s lead to 3-1, KTH gained momentum and went on to score two quick goals courtesy of Timo and Pablo leveling the game to 3-3 and the match was on.

As KTH’s momentum and spirit was on top Skå IK goes on to take the lead once again with 4-3 after a long rage free-kick and KTH is back chasing the game. A lot of tough challenges in midfield take place as neither team wants to go home with a loss.

KTH has some chances and eventually the equalizer comes. 4-4 after Shasika gets a goal following some good pressure in the opposition’s box. It’s then a huge blow for KTH when Skå IK again takes the lead with 5-4 with less than 20 minutes to go. But KTH wasn’t going to let this goal stop them from showing their character.

KTH, In possession, plays the ball on to the right side edge of the box and then crosses it low for Daniel to meet with his foot, putting the ball in to the back of the net. 5-5 and the team has impressed with a great mentality to come back once again from behind, especially for only being the second match of their history. There are some more chances for both teams but the full-time whistle is blown and it ends with a well deserved draw and a bright-looking future for KTH’s newest team.

KTH FC’s B-TEAM STARTS OFF THE SEASON IN GREAT FASHION!

KTH FC B (M) 8:1 Bagarmossen Kärrtorp BK

Going into the game the team was a bit nervous as the opponents had won their previous game 7-1. Not getting access to a dressing room and having to change outside didn’t really improve the situation, but nevertheless our players managed to keep their spirits high as the game started.

The game itself didn’t start off very well as we let them through a bit too easily and 0-1 was a fact after only 5 minutes played. However, after the goal KTH starts taking over the game more and more and after a nice offensive throw in in the 20th minute, Daniel turn away a defender and passes the ball to Timo who evens it out 1-1. A few minutes later our left back Kalle goes on an offensive raid, winning several duels and somehow getting it to Andreas who scores to make it 2-1, which is also the standing at half time.

KTH opens up the second half strongly by pressuring the opponents to make some defensive mistakes, resulting in Olivier Guyon scoring only a few minutes in. After that, Bagarmossen gets back into the game and it shifts back and forth for a while. Bagarmossen has one really good chance to get back into the match but Jonathan in goal keeps them from doing so by steering the first attempt into the post and then saving the rebound as well.

Bagarmossen started pushing up a lot of players, letting KTH to counter attack. About 30 minutes into the second half Pablo got alone with the keeper, calmly rounded him and put the ball into an empty net. Thereafter, Timo Heitman scored twice with one of them being a really nice chip over the keeper. Erik scored the 7th in an elmander-esque style before Timo rounded up the game by scoring his 4th goal of the evening.

A really nice performance and a great way to start off the season for the B-team.

VAMOS KTH FC!

KTH FC B (M) 7-0 Stockholm Snipers

After a three week long break from a league game, the B team of KTH FC was back in action. In great fashion they secured another 3 points in their second game of the season. It was a composed effort as the team had a 3-0 lead at half time with two goals coming from Daniel and one from Julian. In the second half the players showed fine character to not let the opponents get back in the game and in the end it was a comfortable win, with goals in the second half coming from Filipe (2), Mostafa and Soren to finalize an excellent scoreline of 7-0.

This Sunday at 20:00 the team go up against Oranje FK at Stadshagens IP 2. We hope to see you there, cheering on the team for a third consecutive win!

KTH FC B (M) 4-0 Oranje FK

KTH FC B wins their third consecutive game of the season by beating Oranje FK on the sunday evening. Coming into the game both teams were standing on 6 points and it looked to be a tough game. KTH FC started off best and managed to take the lead in the 10th minute. Jitin fires away a long shot that hits the crossbar and Daniel makes it 1-0 by nodding home the rebound. 2-0 comes in the 24th minute when David runs up the right hand side of the field and puts in a cross that deflects off an Oranje player into the back of the net. The result stands until half time.

In the second half Oranje takes over the game a bit and pushes KTH back. The team defends well however and manages to score another two goals before the game is over. Olivier makes it 3-0 by scoring on his own rebound, after being assisted by Andreas. Finally, Julian makes it 4-0 and seals the deal by putting it away at the far post.

Also, a shoutout to an injured Lucas who played goalie and kept a clean cheat when no ordinary goalkeeper was available.

Next game is against the division leaders Essinge IK, on June 5th 18:00 at Stadshagens IP 2. We hope to se you there!

KTH FC B (M) 4-0 Essinge IK

The B-team of KTH FC continued their winning streak making it 4 wins in 4 games as they defeated league leaders Essinge IK on Sunday evening!

The anticipation was high coming in to the game as both teams had won all previous games so far. Essinge IK, having played one more game than KTH FC, was sitting 3 points ahead at the top of the table. Ultimately, it was a crucial game for both teams to win in the fight for first place.

KTH FC started off well in the first 25 minutes after kick off, playing the ball down the wings and creating chances from there. As the clock neared the 30 minute mark it finally paid off when Filipe met a good cross and headed it in goal from short range, impossible for the keeper to save. After the goal, Essinge IK played better but the result was still 1-0 as the halftime whistle was blown.

Second half started off much better for KTH FC as the defense played excellent and made it hard for Essinge IK to create any dangerous chances. Instead KTH FC created chances and when a loose ball came to Olivier just inside the opponents penalty area he smashed it on half-volley past the keeper. 2-0 to KTH FC. Just some minutes later Daniel intercepted a pass from an Essinge IK defender and played the ball into the path of Andreas who, 1 on 1 against the goalkeeper, scored KTH FC's third goal of the night. To round it all up, Timo, in his last game for KTH FC, scored the last goal of the the game making it 4-0 to KTH FC!

KTH FC are now at a shared first place with Essinge IK in the table but with one game less played. Next game, where KTH FC has the chance to go top of the table by themselves, is Sunday 19th June 18:00 at Stadshagens IP 2. Hope we see you there!

KTH FC B (M) 7-2 Solberga BK

After a summer break from football the B-team of KTH FC started the fall season with a fine win against Solberga BK this Sunday afternoon. The team now tops the league table with 6 wins in 6 matches and also with a gap of 6 points to second placed Essinge IK.

KTH came off to a great start as Pablo Bardesi Isusi accurately headed the ball to put KTH 1-0 up from a corner kick by David Malmström. Not long after David Fridlund swinged in a free kick to the box which Filipe Silva Ramos met with his foot to double the lead for KTH, 2-0. And in the great momentum Jitin Thomas also made a magnificent cross from the edge of the box which David Malmström distinctly made sure hit the back of the net for 3-0. To finish off the first half Andreas Egneblad made a powerful, low cross from the left side of the box which was deflected by a Solberga defender past the goalkeeper to make it 4-0 before the referee blew the halftime whistle.

The second half started superbly as Erik Björck intercepted a ball in the opponents half and passed it to Daniel Lindström, who got a shot off which the keeper couldn’t keep from finding the net, 5-0. With a comfortable lead KTH relaxed a bit which made it possible for Solberga to score two quick goals and even out the scoreline a bit, 5-2. This was a small wake-up call for KTH who would then go on to score two more goals before full time. 6-2 came after a pass from David Fridlund made Filipe Silva Ramos one on one with the keeper who comfortably scored his second goal of the game. Right before the full time whistle David Fridlund lobbed the ball in to the penalty area where Erik Björck won an aerial duel, the ball then fell kindly to Daniel Lindström’s feet who finalized the scoreline of 7-2.

Next game for the B-team of KTH FC is 28th of August at 15:00

against Essinge IK on Essinge IP. An important game for the battle of first place finish, we hope you will come and support us to a victory!

Essinge IK 0–4 KTH FC B (M)

KTH FC:s B-team stays undefeated after yet another victory! The team managed to beat 2nd placed Essinge IK with the same result 4-0 once again, in the second round of the series. The team is now in first place with 9 points down to Essinge but with one more game played.

KTH started off the game quite well, just as Essinge did and there weren’t many chances created for either team. However, KTH played poorly about 20 minutes into the game and Essinge pressured the team down to their own penalty area. No goals were scored though and it was 0-0 at half time.

KTH started off the second half as the better team and created more and more chances. Adnan Mahmutović came through the opponent’s defence a couple of times but managed to put the ball just wide of the post. It was Pablo Bardesi Isusi who opened up the scoring to put KTH 1-0 up with a well-timed header after a fine free kick from Jitin Thomas. KTH was the better team and made the scoreline 2-0 after David Koller put in a cross that found Erik Persson's head. Essinge pushed more people up the field to get a goal back but were unsuccessful in doing so. Instead, KTH scored both 3-0 and 4-0 trough Hana Said who finished off two nice counter attacks.

The next game for the team is 11th of September against Oranje FK where KTH have the chance to secure a first place finish. The game will be played at Essinge IP with kick off at 13:00, hope to see you there!

VAMOS KTH!

The B-team of KTH FC are the league winners!!!

KTH FC B (M) 4-1 Stockholm Snipers IF

A strong second half secured yet another victory for the team and with this win KTH are now the champions of the series even though they still have one game remaining!

KTH came off to a good start and kept possession of the ball while playing through the whole team. After 15 minutes KTH took the lead with 1-0 when a loose ball in the opponents penalty area was picked up by David Fridlund who placed the ball in the bottom left corner, out of reach for the keeper. After the goal, KTH relaxed a bit too much and Stockholm Snipers equalized to 1-1 after some miscommunication. The rest of the half both teams had some chances and hit the woodwork one time each but the score was still 1-1 at half time.

The second half belonged to KTH. After an excellent through-ball from the half way line, Olivier Guyon came free and calmly lobbed the ball over the keeper to put KTH 2-1 up. Next up on the scoresheet was Erik Björck who, one on one with the keeper, rolled the ball to the left of the keeper in to the back of the net for 3-1. The final scoreline of 4-1 came when Olivier Guyon sent in a cross which a defender headed in for an own goal.

The last game for the team is 2nd of October 16:00 against Bagarmossen at Kärrtorps IP. KTH will go out on the pitch as league winners but will still try to put in a great performance to end the season with a win. We hope to see you there!

VAMOS KTH!

Bagarmossen Kärrtorp BK 2-3 KTH FC B (M)

The B-team of KTH FC ends their season in great fashion as yet another strong second half secures 3 points for the champions of the league!

Because of injuries, KTH was missing a couple of defensive players so it was a tough start to the game as the team had to adjust to some new positions. Bagarmossen kept most of the possesion in the first half and created lots of chances. They also scored 1-0 and 2-0 before half-time and it was a fair result coming in to the 15 minute break.

In the second half KTH were much more aggressive and pushed Bagarmossen down the field. It would turn out to be successful and after some quick passes in the offensive third Erik Björck came free on goal and placed the ball beside the keeper for 2-1. Not long after, David Malmströmsprinted down the right flank with the ball, cut in to the middle and after some tussle with a defender he got the ball in the back of the net for the equaliser, 2-2. KTH now had their minds set on a win. With 4 minutes remaining KTH won a free kick around the half way line and a long cross was then met perfectly by Filipe Silva Ramos who headed the ball over the keeper to score the winning goal of 3-2.

As this was the last game of the season for the B-team we would like to thank everyone for your support during our first season and hope you will continue to follow us next year!

Q:- Your Football worst quality?

A:- My condition right now isn't the best, but I plan to get in shape asap.

Q:- You just got engaged, so congratulations to you and to your fiancee Débora. Does your Brazilian fiancee give you football advice?
